Kilburn was one of the hotbed spots for the Suffragettes movement. It was here that Violet Doudney a key suffragette trained as a teacher and organised protests rallies.
The National Lottery Funded “Brent Women of Renown” project shared Violet’s story, Amy Johnson Aviation and Engineer achievements and Dame Stephanie Shirley’s inspirational life to students in Brent schools throughout 2023 to take inspiration from their lives, develop research skills and aid their learning amongst other curriculum related topics.
In a month’s time we premiere the documentary about the “Brent Women of Renown” at The Kiln Cinema, Kilburn.
