An Evening of Arabic Folk: Alaa & Jamal – 7.30pm with delicious Middle Eastern food

Jamal brings over 40 years of professional experience from Syria, where he composed for television, ran recording studios, and lectured as an Arabic music expert. Since arriving in the UK, he’s toured with Damon Albarn and Gorillaz and performs with the London Syrian Ensemble.

Alaa hails from a renowned Syrian musical family and has been mastering the Oud and traditional vocals for 25 years.

Together since 2017, this duo weaves authentic Syrian and Arabic folk songs that tell stories of heritage, resilience, and the universal language of music. An intimate evening of cultural bridge-building through timeless melodies.
